Legal and Ethical Limitations on Surveillance and Locate Investigations
At Lone Star Detectives, we adhere strictly to all applicable laws and ethical standards governing private investigations. To ensure the integrity of our work and the safety of all individuals involved, there are specific circumstances under which we are legally prohibited from conducting surveillance or locate investigations.
We are unable to conduct surveillance on any individual who:
Has filed a protective order against you, or
Is the subject of a protective order you have filed.
Furthermore, if it is determined—either prior to or during the course of our investigation—that you have a current or prior stalking-related charge, we are cannot conduct surveillance services on your behalf.
In addition, we do not perform locate investigations unless there is a valid legal purpose for obtaining the subject’s current whereabouts. Prior to initiating any such investigation, we conduct a comprehensive background review to determine whether any protective orders exist between the involved parties.
It is also important to note that we do not locate individuals from past personal relationships, as this does not constitute a lawful reason for acquiring their new address or location.

While we understand that certain information may not be immediately available, our team will take the necessary steps during the initial case preparation phase to obtain any missing details.
In addition to basic identifiers—such as the individual’s full name, date of birth, and contact information—the following details are especially helpful:
Known work or daily schedules
Vehicle information, including make, model, color, and license plate (if known)
Recent photographs of the subject
